Bus
City tours for sightseeing are run by private and government owned/operated bus services which must be scheduled prior to the date you plan on traveling. Reservations can be made through your hotel or travel agency.
Auto rickshaw
Readily available and easily accessible around the markets and bus station, auto-rickshaws help with traveling distances you can not cover by foot. Prices must be negotiated, as meter fare is not available in Ooty.
Taxi and Car
If you are traveling far distances you will require a taxi. Most tourists walk or hire an auto-rickshaw, but for trips to the center of the city (such as the popular Charring Cross Junction market area), only cabs are available. A trip this length will range from Rs 40-50.
